European Commission president Ursula Von Der Leyen welcomes the 10-day ceasefire declared between Israel and Hezbollah that was announced by US President Donald Trump.
“This is a relief, as this conflict has already claimed far too many lives,” von der Leyen writes on X, adding that it must lead to “permanent peace.”
“Europe will continue to call for the full respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she says.
